Listen now (49 mins) | Silicon Valley's turn to reactionary ideologies threatens to reduce tech-optimism to pessimism, stifle innovation, and undermine liberalism.
Loved the episode. I do want to point out that it's not really everybody that has a duty to "pop out a kid"--most of that burden is supposed to be on women. Despite the number of children, the actual sacrifice that your Elons Musk make for popping out said kids seems extremely limited.
And, given the way that markets are extremely punishing to people who pop out and raise children, and women who he would think have "desirable genes" would have to sacrifice even more money and power to raise kids, it's hard to see his how his world comes to fruition without some sort of patriarchal authoritarianism becoming extremely involved in our intimate lives.
